Juliet Huddy Funky Wardrobe

Juliet sported an interesting wardrobe choice this week - now I am not mocking it - for the most part I always love what Huddy wears - but it did remind me of a flower-power type outfit.

What do you think?

Join the Huddy revolution!

Juliet Huddy in New York Times

Do any of you all see the big feature that the New York Times wrote yesterday on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet?

A few excerpts:
He’s smarmy. She’s contrived. He leers at girls like an old stage ham. She talks about freezing her eggs and getting her breasts done. Together they’re Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, Fox’s new morning pair, who use their unholy chemistry to pervert the breakfast hour on “The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet.” We owe these two a warm, warm welcome. [...]

So what is the relationship Mr. Jerrick and Ms. Huddy are performing? I argue this: They are playing an older man who, because he loves the ladies too much or not enough, shuns long-term relationships, and an attractive over-30 woman who has pursued her career rather than marrying and regrets it.

This is a kind of marvelous city duo — and a nice breakthrough for morning shows. No giggly hot mom like Kelly Ripa; no model of rectitude and self-sacrifice like Ms. Vieira. And no good old Reege. Or good young Matt.

Instead they’re a little sleazy, Mike and Juliet. And a little lonely. Morning shows have long been seen as having two audiences: busy, important people on their way to work, who want to know news, traffic and weather, and stay-at-home mothers and housewives, who like mellower segments about relationships and household economy.
I encourage you to read the whole article, which is actually a great review for the show.
Virginia Heffernan really captures something about this duo - that they have so much more to offer then Regis/Kelly and Meredith/Matt. They are imperfect, obsessed with the craziness of life (ie: sex and relationships) and are just like the rest of us.

I hope this endorsement brings more viewers in - to find out what fans of the show already know - Juliet is great.

Juliet Huddy Going National!

I read some great news this morning about Huddy's new morning show.
From TV Week:

Twentieth Television has now cleared daytime chatfest “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet” in 70 percent of the country. The pickups solidify the show’s base for a full national launch in the fall.

The series, which is currently on the air on a number of stations owned by Fox, will launch in varying timeframes depending on the station. Some will begin airing the show within the next couple of weeks, while others will wait for the fall depending on the station’s immediate needs.

The syndicator has added twelve new affiliates, increasing its roster to 68 markets overall with 25 of the top 30 represented. Among the new affiliates are: KTVU-TV in San Francisco, KCRA-TV in Sacramento, WRTV-TV in Indianapolis and KUSI-TV in San Diego. Among the outlets picking up the show are stations from the Cox, Hearst-Argyle, Sinclair and Raycom groups.

“These stations represent what we are looking for in new affiliates for “The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet,” including strong time periods and a viewership that matches our target audience,” said Bob Cook, President, Twentieth Television.

“The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet” launched Jan. 22 and is broadcast live from the FOX studios in New York, Monday through Friday.

Increased exposure is always a good thing. And while Juliet Huddy is ironing out her morning routine, this fall she can expect to hit a ton of new markets. Fantastic news, and a sign that this show is staying put for the long haul.

Juliet Huddy and Marie Osmond

This is quite a way to start off the weekend, but after Marie Osmond's appearance on today's show, I feel I have to respond.

Marie actually was once a fox, like Juliet.

Juliet Huddy Friday Show - YouTube

My posts this week have not been as frequent a I would like, but as I have said before, sometimes my actual job gets in the way. If anyone is interested in sending me money so I can do this full time, I guarantee that I would not miss one bit of the action.

That being said, I have been watching The Morning Show.

I love how this morning they had on the ladies that appeared in the wildly popular YouTube video featuring a bride-to-be cutting off her hair (the primary video has been taken down).

And as Lost Remote, among others, reported:
"As a few Lost Remoters suspected, the incredibly popular YouTube clip of the bride throwing a fit over her bad hair is a fake. The clip was played over and over again in a Today Show segment on bad hair earlier this week. But it turns out the 'bride' is 21-year-old Toronto aspiring actress Jodi Behan, as outed by the blog Dlisted and confirmed in this National Post story. And now the clip has been 'removed by the user' from YouTube. Good intincts, LR readers. First, Lonelygirl15 and now the bad hair bride — can you believe anything on YouTube these days? One thing’s for sure, the media will be a lot more careful when airing video from YouTube going forward."
That's the lovely internet for you...

Huddy Watchers - Keep It Up!

Now I am all about bring your the highs and lows of Juliet Huddy - this is not just a sunshine and lollipops blog. I report what is out there, and do not screen what I find, for the most part.

That said, I read the following in the NY Daily News:

"Yikes - if early ratings are any indication, viewers are not digging 'The Morning Show,' hosted by Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, which launched Monday locally on Ch. 5. As of yesterday, ratings for the show are off 50% from the first day."

Now this is not the best of news, but I am confident in the longevity of this show... it has a lot going for it, and eventually, people will recognize that.

AND, for Pete's sake, it has Juliet! That alone is worth a few years on the tube.

Huddy is Royalty

In case you missed today's show... one fun feature was centered on the Royal Family... and yes, they do have a website.

Funny how so many people are obsessed with this family... I'll never quite understand it.

Juliet Huddy Fan Blog

This just in from Winter's Soldier Story -
So, after dozens upon dozens columns on national and international politics and military issues, the consistent number one draw to this blog site is ... Juliet Huddy. So much for my background and input. So much for my ego.

Wow! I mean, people really like her and want to read about her.

This blog is by no means a main-stream must-read, not by the media and not even by other bloggers. But if you do a Google search on Juliet Huddy, thousands of entries come up, and somewhere in the first three or four pages, you'll find a reference to this blog!

Holy moly! I'm in the wrong business! I should start a new "official" Juliet Huddy fan club! I should write about Juliet Huddy every single day of my life.
I agree, war and politics have their place, but Juliet Huddy is in a league of her own.
And sorry - but I have the fan blog covered... :)

Huddy Ripple Effect

I can't wait until tomorrow to find out that mainstream reaction to Huddy's new show.
I thought is was great, especially when they started getting in the groove of what they do best.

What did you think of the premiere show?

What I think will happen tomorrow...

Another hit: TV Squad... and guess who commented there??

Juliet Huddy At Last

In just a few hours, Juliet will be back where she belongs - live TV.

TV Newser reports the following:
Mazzarelli's Big Morning

This is a big day for Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy. "The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet" bows today at 9am on Fox affiliates in about 40 percent of the country.

It's also a big day for Tom Mazzarelli, the show's executive producer, who left his senior producer gig at Today to create the new show from scratch.

In this AP story, Mazzarelli draws comparisons between the 1996 launch of FNC and today's launch of his show: "Fox overall has a history of looking at a landscape and where some may see it as cluttered, they see an opportunity."

An opportunity indeed... for viewers and Juliet Huddy

Juliet Huddy Press Hits

I read this article in the New York Daily News this morning, in reference to the Morning Show...
Richard Huff writes:
"Starting Monday, though, viewers will start seeing a little more - wait, make that a lot more - of Huddy's personality as she and Jerrick host 'The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet,' a program that takes them way out of the hard-news world and smack into 'Live With Regis & Kelly' territory."

Other recent press hits:

Cleveland Plain Dealer
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Denver Post

Get ready for much more from this pair...

Labels: , , ,

Huddy's First Guests

I read at US Magazine online that a few of the morning show's first few guests have been leaked.
"Fox News Channel hounds Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy toss their names - and quippy banter - into the live talk-show ring. Their inaugural week guests? Paula Abdul, Carmen Electra and Janice Dickinson. "
Sounds like a pretty good start to me.

Let's see... Paula Abdul, AKA, the boozehound American Idol Judge (see YouTube).

Then there is Carmen Electra (late of all the Taco Bell commercials, among many, many others).

Then on to Janice Dickinson, the world's first supermodel.

Not too shabby at all.

Juliet Huddy Loves Animals

I would be remiss if I did not mention anther part of the Fishbowl LA interview talking about pets. Please read on:
Stories About Cute Dogs: "I have a chihuahua who is the cutest dog on the face of the Earth," Huddy says. "His name is Gomez."

"This dog," Jerrick adds, "is 50 percent testicle." [...]

"I think this little Gomez dog could be the mascot of our show," Jerrick says. "I don't have any animals."

"He has a large cobra," Huddy giggles.

There are a couple of points here that I am not sure how to comment on... Testicles.... Cobra...

I'll leave it to you...

Labels: , , , , , ,

Juliet Huddy in Fishbowl

I was just reading a post on Fishbowl LA talking about an interview that Huddy and Jerrick did with the blog.

One part of the Q & A is as follows:
And both tell FBLA that they have a strong affinity for this fair (OK, these days, freezing) land of ours. But you can't trust the media. So we put these talking heads to the test, asking them to riff -- morning show style -- on the stories that matter most to Angelenos. Here's what they said:

Lindsay Lohan: "I would make this take as a father as two young ladies in their 20s, and I would be rooting for her. She's got a wild family," Jerrick says.

Huddy chimes in: "The mom, from everything I've heard, there doesn't seem to be anything reigning the girl in. How is she supposed to turn out when she has mom and dad encouraging chaos?"

Jerrick: "Right.

Huddy: "When Britney Spears had a picture taken of her, holding her baby in the front seat, Mike and I were on air, dissing her. Her father called our control room, distraught. And it brought me down to reality. This is a human being. It was a wake-up call. She's a kid.

Jerrick: "A lot television has turned young people's lives into a sport. I hope she comes out of it well."
More wisdom and insight to come from this power duo. It should be great to watch.

She is going to be a modern-day Dear Abby meets Angelina Jolie.
Or something like that...

Please take a peak: J$P.

It should prove to be a interesting comparison to how she looks next week.

Juliet Huddy Potential Viewers

From a response on ICN to the entry entitled: Here comes The Morning Show…
"As a disclaimer, I’d watch a show that featured Juliet Huddy watching paint dry, but I do think she and Jerrick will work well in this new spot. And part of the draw for me was the humor and lightheartedness — it’s early and I’m already having to work."
Wow - I would agree in spades. That said, not all comments are as positive:
"Since FNC is a news channel I think having a show like M&J were doing was a mistake. Being the new show is more of a non news talk show there goofiness may be more tolerated."
I do understand the point here. Some people want their news networks to be just hard news.
I personally liked Huddy on F&F, and then Dayside... and I think this will be another vehicle for her talents.
That said, if this medium on network TV brings in more people, than I am all for it!

New Juliet Huddy Blog Readers?

I am sorry to say that as hard it is to believe, some of my fellow bloggers have not been reading my posts to find out what Juliet Huddy has been up to.

I am all about planting seeds and forming relationships, so I am glad to have picked up on the RO blog that posts the following under the title - Juliet Huddy of Fox News:
"Juliet Huddy of Fox News is another gorgeous news babe. What has happened to Juliet Huddy, is that she and co-star Mike Jerrick are going to start a new show, Jan. 22, 2007.

Here are some 'fun' facts about Juliet Huddy:

She likes guys with hairy chests (that takes me out of the picture:))
Juliet Huddy likes karaoke….who doesn’t?
Juliet has been Divorced (twice)

and the most depressing part, apparently Juliet Huddy likes to listen to Howard Stern.

We wish her and Mike Jerrick good luck in their new show."

Glad to see "theoperative" is finally finding out the scoop on my favorite news lady.

Juliet Huddy Coutdown Continues

Thanks to Spud over at Inside Cable News, and we we inch closer to the premiere of the Morning show with Mike and Juliet, I am happy to report the following from TV Week:
"Now Fox Television Stations and Twentieth Television are betting the television hosts' chemistry will break a jinx that has stymied Fox's efforts to develop a lasting national morning show. 'The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet,' which starts Jan. 22 on 24 Fox-owned stations, represents the company's latest attempt to create competition for ABC's, CBS's and NBC's wake-up programs. [...]

'The reception from the marketplace has been very, very good,' Twentieth Television President and COO Bob Cook said. 'The Morning Show' will be topical, but it will not have the news-heavy character of the first half-hour of "Today," Mr. Mazzarelli, Ms. Huddy and Mr. Jerrick said. Instead it will focus on the staples of the rest of 'Today' and of many other daytime shows: celebrities, lifestyle and health."

I think this show is going to be dynamite!

What do YOU think?

Also the hit from TV Newser.

Say, Juliet, how long do you think you will last on network TV?

I think that about says it....

Juliet Huddy Feature

The Washington Times offers a preview into "The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet" upcoming in a little over a week. They paint a pretty good picture.
Fox is stepping up its efforts in the daytime broadcast race with a new morning show that will go head to head with ABC's "Live With Regis and Kelly" at 9 a.m. weekdays. [Reege is going down.]
"The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet," featuring Fox News Channel veterans Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy, will debut Jan. 22, Fox announced yesterday.
The hour-long program will offer a mix of celebrity interviews, lifestyle segments and audience participation.
"We'll have fashion, beauty, health, relationships -- Mike loves to talk about his love life," Miss Huddy joked. [please, no]
The show, which will be broadcast live from New York, will discuss water-cooler fodder as well as family issues like parenting. [...]
"I think Regis is the king of doing this and if we can come close to his success, that'd be great," he said. "We know how to do this; we just need some people to watch." [count me in.]
Miss Huddy noted that the duo is not "reinventing the wheel," but she said their chemistry sets them apart. The two -- who tease each other with the easy rapport of a brother and sister -- have worked together for more than four years, first as co-hosts of Fox News Channel's weekend edition of "Fox and Friends," and most recently, on "DaySide," the cable network's daily live-audience talk show.
"Normally, they take two people and they shove them together," Miss Huddy said, calling the day she met Mr. Jerrick "the greatest day in my professional life." [with many more to come.]
But, she stressed: "We are not dating." [thank goodness]
Mr. Jerrick said the new gig will be the opposite of "DaySide" and probably feature 10 percent hard news, instead of 80 percent to 90 percent.
Miss Huddy summed up: "This show is going to let us go nuts."

Wow - I can't wait to see Juliet go nuts - that will be quality viewing.

Juliet Huddy Nude?

I was reading this post by guy working in the army, and writing his blog from Iraq.
[As an aside, I have all the respect and appreciation for all of the troops fighting for the US all over the world.]

Anyway, "Outlaw 13" mentions here that in order to spike your traffic, all you have to do is mention something like 'Cheerleaders Gone Wild' or 'Naked Chicks' or 'Sex Video' - or the like.

He also notes the following:
"For that matter who knew that people searched the internet for pictures of a nude Juliet Huddy...I get hits all the time on that one because I wrote about her and Kiran Chetry HERE. "
Yeah - who are these people? No one I know.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if Outlaw is right.

Juliet Huddy Party Details

Now, I am never surprised at what I see online anymore, but I did see one thing today that caught my attention. I know there is some crazy stuff out there, especially on sites like MySpace. But, on the MySpace blog page of a girl named "Kristin," there is some particularly interesting reading. Apparently, she took it upon herself to wrote about her 2006, and this is what she says about April:
"April: Ooooh… what a fun month! The highlight is a tie between the Tiger Ball and Wendy's bachelorette party (I think that was in April). I got drunk with Juliet Huddy at the Tiger Ball, which was both fun and funny, but I can't say why. The bach party didn't hit the top until later when I found out that my friends thought I was staying in the guest room fooling around with another chica. WHAT!? A. I wasn't even there! 2. I definitely wasn't with a lady! (I could be having a great flashback right now, but I drank too much.)"
Hmmm. This raises some questions, but the fact of the matter is that Kristin is from Missouri, and the Tiger Ball sounds like a University of Missouri event, which is where Juliet went to college. So, this is gaining slight credibility. [Edit: indeed it is a Univ. of Missouri event.]

What doesn't add up is what a celeb like Huddy would be doing hanging out with this hayseed.

Anyway, the plot thickens with Kristin's next blog reply:
"I didn't say I necessarily had more fun with the crazy Mizzou Alums... it was just very interesting. The QB coach was wearing a powder blue tux, my dad touched Juliet Huddy's boob(s) (how embarrassing), and I got to dance w/ old people to Disco Dick."
Wow.
Now this raises even more questions:
  • Where was this party?
  • Who is her Dad?
  • How can I get an invite?
  • What was the deal with the said grope in question???
Exhibit A: please see red sweater.

Juliet Huddy's Scrapbook

While we continue to wait for Juliet Huddy's premiere on the 22nd (a mere 13 days away!) I thought we would take a brief walk down memory lane, and take a peak into the Huddy scrapbook.

First off - Juliet in a stunning white gown flanked by other Fox News ladies as well as former Secretary of State, Colin Powell.

Here, Juliet is with the same women. But I can not place that man - I have absolutely no idea who he is. Oh, did I forgot to mention that I had my regular Eternal Sunshine treatment this morning? It does wonders.

Can anyone name those Fox News ladies with Juliet?

So - direct from House/Cuddy Blog...
"A new FOX sports news program will be coming out soon called 'The Morning Show With Mike and Juliet.' The show is hosted by Mike Jerrick and Juliet HUDDY.

God, I'd kill to have that last name. :D"
See - Juliet has many admirers that come in many forms.

Regis Barks, Juliet Will Bite Back

I read this in last Sunday's Parade magazine insert in my newspaper, where James Brady did his "In Step with.... Regis Philbin":
"Fox is reported to be launching a new morning-show competitor early in 2007, so I asked the 75-year-old Mr. Philbin about it. He looked around the room as if for statistics. 'Over the years, there must have been—how many—60 shows?' he said. 'Most of them are long gone.'"

Apparently, Reege is not so certain about the potential of Juliet Huddy's upcoming show.
On this matter, he will be sorely disappointed - he obviously has no idea what is coming - or who he will be coming up against.

One thing we do know for fact - Regis sure isn't what he used to be...

Name-calling and personal attacks: the last resort of all propagandists and smear merchants. Just how far over the bend have the Fox haters tumbled? Can you identify some of their most creative, cultured insults?

My favorite question is the following:

06. Giggling eye candy
* Gretchen Carlson

* Kirsten Powers

* Juliet Huddy

* Charles Krauthammer

Can you guess the correct answer??
I will say that of all the insults from the "haters," that thankfully Juliet's was one of the most benign.

The competition?

Yikes!

Where Have You Been!

Wow... I can't believe I have been so neglectful recently - I feel like Social Services might come and take away my precious blog. It has been a combination of a long weekend vacation and serious work coming in the door - I thought December was supposed to be relaxed!

Anyway, back to business - all things Juliet Huddy.

Thanks to YOU, my readers, for hanging on.

Not even consummate pro Juliet Huddy can't keep it together when old school rapper, DJ Mike J does downtown... back to the glory years.

You know how we do...

Where have you gone, Juliet Huudy?

One thing I despise most is an extended absence from my blog - for that I apologize.

Does this make it up to you? [Forget the boob on the right...]

The Many Faces Of Juliet Huddy

Juliet is such a versatile host - she will be huge on network TV...

One minute she is pensive and steadfast, the next she is mysterious and perplexed...

Of course, she might have had a bad bite of a tube steak - we may never know... it's sometimes hard to tell with the pros.

Juliet Huddy's New EPs

Direct from Hollywood Reporter - it seems that things are starting to come together!
"Two weeks after picking an executive producer for its new national morning show, Fox has named two co-executive producers.

The untitled morning show will debut in January, hosted live from New York by Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy from 9-10 a.m. EST. It will air at the start on Fox's owned and operated stations.

The network said Monday that Patricia Ciano and Terence Noonan will be co-executive producers.

Ciano had been supervising producer at Sony Pictures Television, where she launched "Judge Hatchett" and "Judge Maria Lopez." She also worked with RDF Media on ABC's "Wife Swap" as well as on "Ricki Lake," "Life & Style" and "Jenny Jones."

Noonan had been executive
creative consultant at SPT. He had been executive producer of Plum TV's "Beauty Beat" and also worked on "Life & Style" as senior producer plus "Living It Up With Ali and Jack," "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "ElimiDate" and "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."

They join executive producer Tom Mazzarelli, who left his job as senior producer at NBC's "Today" to become executive producer of the morning show."

Also, Broadcasting & Cable & Broadcast Newsroom.

I mean - with these giants under their belt... who knows how far Huddy can go! (/snap)
